Are you an experienced international English teacher? There’s a new way to take charge of your own professional development with Western’s Summer Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Certificate of Completion for Practicing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Teachers.
International English teachers have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and a certificate of completion. Courses available during the Summer online with optional residency (on-site) to study at the Bellingham, Washington campus.
- Especially designed for experienced teachers of EFL working outside the U.S. Non-native English speakers with advanced proficiency are welcome!

This program is a non-credit program (you will receive CEUs, Continuing Education Units to document your professional development work, rather than credits). Therefore, no student visa sponsorship is available for non-US citizens interested in this program. No visa is needed for online participation. If you join us at the WWU campus for a summer residency, your status will be tourist or visitor. In that case, it is your responsibility to check to see if you need and can receive a B-2 Tourism and Visit Visa in a timely fashion, or if your country is part of the US visa waiver program.
